Privacy Policy
Effective October 29, 2026
Tilefold is made by KDTechGroup (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Tilefold app, download it or its updates, visit tilefold.com, or sign up for email updates; what we do with it; and the choices you have. If you have a question, write to privacy@tilefold.com.
The short version
- Tilefold runs on your Mac and needs no account. Your sessions, files, settings and activity log stay on your computer.
- The app sends no usage data (telemetry) to us.
- Downloads, update checks and website visits are counted from our servers’ request logs. Raw logs are deleted after 30 days.
- The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers.
- If you give us your email address for updates, we use it only to send what you asked for, and you can unsubscribe from any email.
- We do not sell or share your personal information, and we show no ads.
The Tilefold app
Tilefold works on your computer. You can download it, open it and use it without creating an account. What you do in it (your terminal sessions, files, settings, shared agent memory and the activity log) is stored on your Mac and is not sent to us.
Update checks. Tilefold asks releases.tilefold.com whether a newer version exists. The request carries your current Tilefold version, your operating system and your processor type, and, like any request on the internet, your IP address. See “Downloads and update checks” below for what we keep.
AI agents, tiles and web pages. AI agents you run in Tilefold (such as Claude Code, Codex or Gemini) connect to their own providers, under those providers’ terms and privacy policies. Tiles can reach the internet only with the permissions you grant them, and their authors’ terms apply to the services they use. Pages you open in Tilefold’s browser are loaded directly from those sites. We do not receive any of this traffic.
No telemetry. The app does not send us usage statistics, crash reports or other data about how you use it.
Downloads and update checks
The app and its updates are delivered from releases.tilefold.com. To count downloads, updates and update checks, our servers record each request: the time, the file asked for, your IP address, your browser or app’s user agent, the referring page, the country and network the address belongs to, and the version, system and processor type an update check reports. No cookies are used.
- Raw request logs are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- A daily list of downloads is kept for up to 365 days, with each IP address shortened so it names a network, not a computer (for example 203.0.113.0).
- Daily totals (counts by version, country, operating system and the like) are kept. They contain no IP addresses or other personal information.
The website
tilefold.com sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. To count visits, our servers record each request: the time, the page asked for, your IP address, your browser’s user agent, the referring page, and the country and network the address belongs to.
- Raw request logs are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Daily totals (page views and visitors by page, country, browser and referring site) are kept. They contain no IP addresses or other personal information.
- If you pick a language, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers it. It stays on your device; clear your browser’s site data to remove it.
- The site’s fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads. Google’s privacy policy applies to that request.
Email updates
If you sign up on the website (for example, to hear when the Windows version is ready), we store your email address, the topics you chose, your language, the kind of device you signed up from, where on the page you signed up, and when you signed up or changed your choices.
- We use your address only to send the updates you chose.
- Every email has an unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe, we mark your address as unsubscribed and keep that mark so we never email you again by mistake. To have the address removed altogether, write to privacy@tilefold.com.
- Our service logs identify a sign-up only by a short code derived from the address, never the address itself, and are kept for one year.
Who processes your information
We use a small number of trusted service providers, and only for the purposes above: cloud hosting for the website, the downloads and the email list, and Google Fonts for the website’s fonts. We do not sell or share personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not combine it with information from other sources. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Where your information is stored
Tilefold is built and run in the United States, and the information described here is stored in the US.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to privacy@tilefold.com from the address in question. We answer within 30 days and may need to confirm the request comes from you. Depending on where you live (for example, California or the European Union), you may have further rights under local law, and we honor them. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.
Security
We use industry-standard administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information:
- Encryption in transit and at rest. Information is encrypted on its way to us and wherever we store it.
- Restricted access. Access is limited to authorized personnel, and each of our services can reach only the information it needs to do its job.
- Data minimization. We collect only what we need, shorten IP addresses before keeping them, and keep email addresses out of our logs.
- Protected records. Our email list is continuously backed up and guarded against accidental deletion, and changes to it are recorded.
- Signed software. Tilefold and its updates are digitally signed, and the app is notarized by Apple, so your Mac can verify they come from us and have not been altered.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to protect your information, and we will notify you of a breach that affects it as the law requires. To report a security issue, write to security@tilefold.com.
Children
Tilefold is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to privacy@tilefold.com and we will delete it.
Coming features
We plan optional accounts and paid plans, and optional, anonymous usage statistics that stay off unless you turn them on. None of these is in the app today. We will update this policy before any of them ships.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we will say so on this website before it takes effect.
